In this live futures trading video, I record my screen and walk through my trades as they happen in real time, explaining my thought process, decision-making, and adjustments along the way. I begin the session already slightly in the green thanks to some overnight trades, which highlights one of the biggest advantages of the futures market—being open nearly 24 hours a day and offering flexibility for traders with busy schedules. As the session gets going, I focus on a breakout and pullback setup, patiently waiting for price to return to a key level rather than chasing momentum. Once the setup comes back into my zone, I enter the trade and it reacts exactly how I was anticipating, allowing me to lock in a solid profit of over $1,000. This trade is a great example of how patience and discipline can pay off when you stick to your plan. I then look for another opportunity, attempting a short scalp, but run into some unusual platform behavior and execution issues. Instead of forcing trades in uncertain conditions, I take a step back and reassess the situation. As I continue to watch the chart, the price action becomes very choppy and misleading—showing how easily traders could get trapped on both sides of the market. I talk through the importance of being honest with yourself as a trader, especially when reviewing situations in hindsight, and how tricky market conditions can lead to unnecessary losses if you’re not careful. Overall, this video highlights key trading principles like patience, proper execution, risk management, and knowing when to walk away. Even on days where not much happens, there’s still a lot to learn from the process and decision-making behind each trade.
