Here’s a fact about day trading online: you will experience periods of frustration! There are very few guarantees that can be made when it comes to the financial worlds of trading and investing; however, “frustration” is one of those safe guarantees to make. The world of day trading can be filled with emotions of all kinds. Because of this, one of the key skill sets required for successful day trading is to learn how to identify (and then manage) those emotions. As nice as it would be to have all our emotions totally eliminated, that’s just not reality. This is something you should not be in denial about either. When you admit that you are “feeling” a certain way, it’s a huge step in the right direction of being able to avoid the emotion causing you to do something dumb. I’ve been day trading for almost two decades and I have some great experience with “dumb”. Reflecting back on my trading journey, the cause of many of my “dumb” was rooted in the emotion of frustration. Our human minds want to avoid and destroy frustration as quickly as possible, so when you combine this urge into the context of the stock market (or any financial market), it’s a recipe for disaster. How do I handle frustration as a trader? Let me show you using some actual day trading results of mine that I was able to capture, live, on video!
