As day traders every day brings a new set of circumstances. In this day’s trading action, I got off to a great start. However, the key word there is “start”, not “finish”. While the stock market does provide the same patterns over and over, there is no guarantee when those patterns will, exactly, repeat themselves. These kinds of days can be very frustrating where you start off strong only to have things go not according to plan. We need to be aware of our mental state during these periods to ensure we don’t completely lose our minds and do something stupid. Everyone always says you need to be “disciplined” as a trader, which is true, but in many ways that’s simply a sound bite.
