In this live futures day trading video, I walk you through several real-time trades while demonstrating one of the biggest advantages of the futures market: flexibility in risk management. I start the session already up $950 from earlier NQ trades, but then switch to the MNQ micro contracts to continue trading with significantly lower risk. Micros allow you to trade the same chart and same price action as NQs, but with a fraction of the volatility—perfect for protecting profits while still staying active. Early in the session, I take a controlled loss on the MNQ, then show how cutting losers quickly gives you a real chance to recover without needing “superhero” trades. By staying disciplined and starting small, I’m able to work back to green while showcasing how futures can move fast in your favor or against you—and why risk management is king. I also dive into how prop firms work, why I use one, and how they allow you to trade with very little personal capital at risk while maintaining strong upside potential.
