In this live futures trading session, I capture my trades in real time as they unfold—wins, mistakes, adjustments, and all. I’m trading the NQ (NASDAQ futures) through a prop firm, which allows me to use minimal personal capital while still accessing significant buying power and upside potential. In this video, I break down my thought process around a key breakout level near prior congestion and how the New York Stock Exchange open at 9:30am ET impacts volatility in the futures market. You’ll see me anticipate a breakout, manage hesitation around the open, and then shift from a long idea to a short when price action changes. One of the biggest lessons in this session is position sizing. My first trade required immediate follow-through because I sized in aggressively. On the second trade, I intentionally started small, giving myself flexibility to build into the position and manage risk more effectively. That adjustment made all the difference and allowed me to turn a messy trade into a profitable one.
