In this live futures trading video, I walk through a couple of real-time trades while explaining my thought process, trade management, and decision-making along the way. Before getting started, I clarify that I’m trading futures and doing so through a prop firm—both of which I’ve linked resources for if you want to learn more. The session begins with a short trade based on a rejection at a key level. While the trade works, I choose to exit relatively quickly as momentum starts to stall, turning the setup into more of a “50/50” situation in my mind. Rather than gambling on a coin-flip scenario, I lock in profits and move on—highlighting the importance of managing probabilities and not forcing trades. I then take another quick scalp using a different contract type (MNQ vs NQ), which brings up an important discussion about risk management in futures trading. Even though both contracts follow the same chart, they behave differently in terms of how quickly profits and losses accumulate, allowing for better control depending on the situation. As the session continues, I find fewer high-quality setups and ultimately decide to step away. I also reflect on how being distracted may have actually helped avoid unnecessary trades—reinforcing the idea that sometimes doing less is the better approach. This video highlights key trading principles such as: Avoiding low-probability (50/50) setups Managing trades based on momentum and follow-through Using contract sizing for risk control Knowing when to stop trading and protect gains If you’re interested in futures trading, prop firms, scalping, or seeing real-time trade decisions in action, this video offers a practical and realistic look at the process.
