In this live futures trading session, I record myself trading in real time while walking through my thought process. I begin by explaining that I trade futures through a prop firm, which allows me to risk very little of my own capital while still having strong upside potential. As the chart develops, I map out several key levels and patterns, focusing especially on a potential breakout around the 880 area. With the New York Stock Exchange open approaching at 9:30 AM Eastern, I expect volatility and volume to increase, so I spend time planning different scenarios for both a breakout and a breakdown. Right as the market opens, price briefly moves lower, suggesting a possible short setup. However, I notice the selling pressure beginning to stall, which makes me think the shorts could get squeezed. I switch my plan and enter long on a bounce. The trade moves quickly in my favor, and within about five seconds I lock in a profit of roughly $1,290. The trade itself is extremely fast, highlighting how the planning process often takes far longer than the actual execution when day trading. I wrap up by emphasizing the importance of patience, preparation, and having a clear plan before entering trades. The video also serves as a reminder that successful trading often comes from thoughtful preparation rather than constantly jumping into trades.
