In this live futures trading video, I capture a real-time trade that quickly turns into a wild ride and ultimately ends in a blown (“cooked”) prop firm account. Before getting started, I explain two key things: I’m trading futures, and I’m doing so through a prop firm—both of which I’ve linked resources for if you want to learn more. I begin the session slightly in the green after a couple earlier trades and start watching for momentum opportunities. As price shows strong upward movement, I look for a pullback entry instead of chasing the move. The plan is simple: wait for confirmation of strength, enter on a pullback, and look for continuation. However, the trade immediately becomes challenging. After entering, price sharply reverses, creating a stressful situation where I have to decide whether to hold, exit, or adjust the position. The market briefly recovers and even gives a chance to exit near breakeven, but I hold, expecting continuation higher. Instead, the move fails, and what started as a solid-looking setup turns into a full loss, ultimately resulting in a cooked account. This is a perfect example of how quickly things can change in fast-moving markets and how decision-making in the moment—especially around adding to positions and not taking available exits—can significantly impact the outcome. I also highlight an important point about prop firm trading: while the loss shown may look large, the actual personal capital at risk is much smaller compared to trading a personal account. That said, the lesson remains the same—discipline and execution matter. This video is a raw, unfiltered look at trading reality. Not every setup works, and sometimes even strong-looking trades can fail. The key takeaway is understanding risk, managing expectations, and learning from each trade. If you’re interested in futures trading, prop firms, momentum trading, or seeing real trading wins and losses, this video offers valuable insight into the process.
