Pumper Tactics. Get Smart!

If you have never come across a pumper, it’s only a matter of time… especially if you are hanging around on social media and/or message boards. I want to show, using a real life example, one of their tactics and how the blind/lazy sheep can easily be mislead into thinking a certain way that in all actuality is not reality. If nothing else, I hope this shows you why it is important to learn to think for yourself and establish a true understanding of trading and the markets.

Let's talk pumper tactics, but let's also do a little knowledge check on your part. So, do ya think you understand stuff?Well, we're about to find outif you understand even the basics of basics.Recently, at least as of the recording of this video,I had a interesting little exchange on Twitter, and I thought, this is a beautiful examplebecause this person knows exactly what they're doing and, while I don't share this, they kinda outed themselveswithout knowing that they outed themselves. But the point that I want to get across is twofold. One, like I said, let's just talk of how pumpers work.Pumpers are those people that areon social media, message boards, that are making everything always sound so great. The price could be down 80% on the day,and the pumpers are, oh it's by the dip, it's still great. And one of the tactics that they use,and then also like I said let's do a real,we'll do a quiz here, and it'll be a status checkof where do you actually stand in regards your understandingof concepts that are very basic and must be understoodbefore you ever advance any further. So, let's first get to this comment that was on Twitter, and there's an image that comes with it,and then we'll take it from there. So, from Twitter.Claytrader said that the HMNY volume was atrocious, yet they are a top volume NASDAQ mover, and then they list a picture hereof a bunch of ticker symbols and volumes, and HMNY up there at the top.Now I'm gonna show you that image one more time, but let me just outline the premise here. The premise is that I did one of my video chartswhere I talk about the technical charts, support resistances, make a bunch of comments, and all those are on a separate YouTube channel. But I did one of those videos, and I called the volume pretty atrocious.I said it was pretty bad because it was bad.And then this person comes back saying, how can you call it bad, how can you call it atrocious?Look at all the volume. It's at the top of the NASDAQ gainers. And I'm telling you right now, this is a pumper tactic. It is very deceiving. They're taking what appears to be one way,so key word being appears to be one way,but when you actually understand what's going on,it has nothing to do with anything, and it's extremely misleading. So again, let me show you the image, and if you wantto pause to look at the image a little bit more. But why is this very misleading? Why is this person's premise that I said volume was bad,and they're proclaiming that, no volume's not bad, look at this, it's the top NASDAQ mover. What's wrong with that picture, though? So we'll go through the quiz question hereas I break down how pumpers operate through tactics, and the main tactic here is, yes on the surface,so this represents the surface right there, they are operating under the truth.Yeah, it is a fact of the matterthat HMNY is at the top of the NASDAQ moversas far as volume is concerned. So, that's true. They're not lying. But, what's below the surface of the truth? That's where we need to go,and this is where, hopefully, you are saying, okay yeah, Mister Pumper, you're right, they are at the top,but there's a difference between, so here we go,we're going lower down, we're getting nitty and grittyinto how things actually work. There is two things out there, actually. There's volume, and then you have dollar volumeor liquidity, meaning how much cash actually changed handsduring the course of the day.Volume is just shares. Now, if you know all this, if this iswhat you're saying in your mind, then perfectthat I would say you aced the quiz, and you have a good solid understanding. If you're saying, oh that's not what I was looking atwell there you go.You probably don't know as much as you think you knowbecause this is very basic stuff. But volume versus dollar volume, so, sure,HMNYhad enough volumebecause there was a whole bunch of shares traded, but that was because it trades at what, five cents a share I think on this day.Where is it, you noticed the other ticker symbols on that?Apple, AMD, and you stop and think about that.Wait a second, I guarantee you more cash traded handsin Apple on the day than HMNY,and how you, well, sure, less volume, there is less shares traded, but because of the cost of Apple, and Apple is over, I think, like 110 or so.So 110 multiplied by those shares, that's giving you the liquidity, and it's showing you that, alright very, very deceiving herewhen you are trying to make it soundlike HMNY belonged in the same conversation as Applewhen it comes to volume.Or in fact, it was more than Applebecause look at all these shares. It's sittin' at the top of that list. No, that's apples and oranges. It's not even the same thing. It has nothing to do with anythingother than the fact that you want HMNY to appearas bullish as possible, in any way possible. So you grasp onto the truth which, again on the surface,is true, but below the surface there's a lot of other thingsgoing on that you just you know, and pumpers they know this stuff, but they're taking advantage. That's why you gotta be smart, invest in your education, be knowledgeable. You have to learn, and you have to be carefulof who are you learning from because a lot of these people,oh I shouldn't say a lot, some of these people, they are teaching, but they're also doing this,so of course they're gonna teach you in waysthat make sure that you don't recognize what's going on.There's a lot of just weird stuff, shady stuff, going on out there. But, you need to also choose who you learn from.I would love for that to be me,but if you feel more comfortable with somebody else,if you like somebody else's teaching style, hey that's totally fine too.I'm just glad that you're gonna go out there and be wise,so that you don't fall for this pumper tacticof just focusing on the surface truths, and then when you start to break things down,oh yeah, that, wait, no, that doesn't make much sense. So here, this is the basic of basics. If you didn't understand that, if you didn't realizewhat was going on, what was being twisted, then I would take the, especially if you're tradingwith real money, I assure you there's many other thingsthat you probably should knowthat you just have no idea about. So hopefully, this can help out,to not only realize one tactic the pumpers use,but just how volume works, and there's a big differencebetween volume and then dollar volume and liquidity, and comparing, like I said, HMNY to Applelike this person was doing, and in some ways trying to implythat somehow HMNY was actually better than Applebecause it was at the top of that list.Give me a break. But, to the untrained eye and to a lot of the lazy sheepout there that coulda seen that and just said,oh yeah, that claytrader guy's an idiot. Why would he call volume bad, and yeah you're right, and I'm gonna start to blindly follow you,and that person's just gettin' the knife readyto do some slaughtering of the sheep. But, just beware and be wise, learnbecause there is power in knowledge. If you are out there trading alone currentlyand maybe are in the market looking for a community to join,to assist you in your trading, or to just help you, give you another set of eyeballs, then I do have a private trading communitywhere you can trade alongside meand other experienced traders. So, what you see popping up on the screen right nowis both an information link,so if you click on the inner circle onethat is going to take you to the pagewhere I explain all the detailsof what exactly come with the community, both the chat room and the newsletter. And then the other image that has popped upis the behind the scenes tour where you can see exactlywhat is going to be contained within the community.I take you through, like I said, a behind the scenes tourof everything, and that way you'll know preciselywhat you are getting when you join. So, definitely check that stuff out, if you are interestedand thinking about wanting to join a community, and let me know if you have any questions.
